The People
"The
body is a unit, though it is made up of many
parts; and though all its parts are many, they
form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were
all baptized by one Spirit into one body" (1
Corinthians 12:12-13). The best thing about
the Northeast Church of Christ is the people. Our
church has very active and friendly members.
Northeast is a place where you can build close
friendships with other Christians. The church
membership is diversified with a strong teen
group, many young families, and seniors that give
the congregation Christian maturity. The two Sunday
morning services have a combined average attendance
of around 420 people. We have continued to grow each
year and we are planning to expand our building
soon!

Church Doctrine
"All
Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for
teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). The
Northeast Church of Christ believes in following
God's plan as laid out in the Bible, as we strive
to imitate the first century church. We see the
Bible as the inerrant, inspired word of God, and
use it as our only guide in religious matters.
Peter
replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one
of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your
sins may be forgiven. And you will receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). We
teach God's plan of salvation through faith,
repentance, confession, and baptism.

Our Elders and Deacons
"An
elder must be blameless, ... one who loves what
is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy
and disciplined" (Titus 1:6, 8).
Northeast has five elders that actively lead the Northeast
congregation. The elders oversee all of the
programs and ministries. The elders are available
to discuss church or personal matters and they
welcome input from the membership.
"Deacons,
likewise, are to be men worthy of respect,
sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not
pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of
the deep truths of the faith with a clear
conscience." (1 Timothy 3:8-9). There
are sixteen deacons at Northeast, with each deacon
providing a special area of service to the church.

Our Ministers
"For
we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as
Lord, and ourselves as you servants for Jesus'
sake" (2 Corinthians 4:5). Northeast
is blessed to have three full time ministers in Grady Smith, Tim Tripp, and Patrick
Williams. Grady Smith has a Bachelors degree from
Lipscomb University and a Masters degree in Theology
from Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Grady has been
preaching at Northeast since 1982 and he is
committed to making our church a great place to
worship. Tim Tripp has a Bachelors degree from
Harding University and a Masters degree in
Marriage & Family Therapy from Butler
University. As our Family Minister, Tim helps
strengthen relationships through Christian counseling. Patrick Williams has a Bachelors degree
from Harding University and a Masters degree in Ministry
from Harding University. Patrick is focused on building
a strong teen program.

Small Group Study
"Day
after day, in the temple courts and from house to
house, they never stopped teaching and
proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the
Christ" (Acts 5:42). Small Bible study
groups meet on Sunday
night in homes of the members. The Small Group
ministry provides an environment where strong
personal relationships with Christ and with each
other can flourish. We grow spiritually as a
Christian family through Bible study,
edification, and fellowship. We seek the church's
growth by reaching out to others as Christ
reaches out to us.

Zone Program
Jesus
replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind.' This is the first and greatest
commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love
your neighbor as yourself.'" (Matthew 22:37-39)
"Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you" (Matthew 28:19-20a). The church is
comprised of eight geographic zones. Each zone focuses on
reaching in to meet the needs of the members and
reaching out to the community around us.

Children's Classes
"Train
a child in the way he should go, and when he is
old he will not turn from it" (Proverbs 22:6).
Northeast has a strong children's program that
helps our youngsters develop a strong faith in
Jesus and a deep appreciation for God's love.
There are children classes that meet during
Sunday morning Bible study and Wednesday evening
service. During the Sunday morning worship,
children may remain in the main assembly or
participate in the children's worship assembly.
Northeast also hosts a Vacation Bible School every
summer.

Teen Program
"Don't
let anyone look down on you because you are
young, but set an example for the believers in
speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity"
(1 Timothy 4:12). The Northeast teen program helps young adults grow
spiritually while encouraging service to God's
church. The teen group embarks on numerous
devotional trips each year. To help pay for these
trips, the teens hold fund raisers such as church
dinners. Our teenagers are excellent role models
for the young children as they serve the church
in many ways.

Kid's
Programs
Jesus
said to them, "Let the little children come
to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of
God belongs to such as these" (Mark 10:14).
Christians In Action (CIA) is a program for
4th-6th grade children focused on service related
activities. Kids For Christ
(KFC) is a program for K-3rd grade children centered on fun
and enjoyable family activities. Our church is also very
involved in the Lads to
Leaders program helping to raise up future church leaders.

Women's Group
"Charm
is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman
who fears the Lord is to be praised" (Proverbs
21:30). Northeast is proud of the spiritual
focus exemplified by the women in our
congregation. A women's Bible study group meets
weekly on Tuesday mornings and a second group
meets on Wednesday nights. There is also a
monthly Ladies' Night Out that helps provide
fellowship and builds strong bonds.

Northeast Connections
"But
encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today,
so that none of you may be hardened by sin's
deceitfulness." (Hebrews 3:13). The Northeast Connections program
builds Christian friendships through various life stage
centered groups. With groups for singles & families,
younger & older members, men & women, we are sure to
have a group where you would feel comfortable.

Benevolence
"He
who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he
will reward him for what he has done" (Proverbs
19:17). Northeast provides aid to the poor
in our community. This includes stocking a food
pantry and preparing food baskets for the
holidays. Northeast helps support Willowbrook
Nursing Home in Columbus, MidWestern Children's
Home in Pleasant Plain, OH, and a Christian
school in Port Au Prince Haiti.

Missionaries
Jesus
said, "Go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).
Northeast believes in spreading God's word not
only locally, but also around the globe. Several
Northeast members actively perform missionary
work in Haiti and China. We financially support
missionaries in China, Thailand,
and Haiti. We also support a church in Cincinnati's
inner city.
